BETTY JO MAYS
MINFORD-Betty Jo Mays, 81, of Minford, went to be with her Lord from SOMC Hospice on Tuesday, January 19, 2016. Born on April 8, 1934 in Lawrence County, she was a daughter of the late Leonard and Margaret Hammond Moore. Betty Jo was a member of Minford Church of the Nazarene.
Also preceding her in death were her husband, Rev. Earl Mays, Sr., a son, "Shady" Mays; three brothers, Alden, Harold and Eddie Moore and a sister, Patty Taylor.
Surviving are three sons, Ron (Mendy) Mays of Vanceburg, KY, David Mays of Portsmouth and Jonathan (Kelly) Mays of Frankfort, KY; a daughter, Diane (Jeff) Dodds of Minford; a brother, Jerry (Ann) Moore of South Point; two sisters, Joyce Craft and Rita Smith, both of South Point; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Betty Jo's Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 21st at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN SCIOTOVILLE with Rev. Mark Bales and Rev. Rob Hale officiating. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Gardens in South Point.
The family will receive guests at Brant's from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Memorial contributions may be made to SOMC Hospice.
