Lewis Roper Obituary

Lewis Andrew Roper III, of Hobart IN. was called home to Our Lord, June 4th, 2015. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Edith Shearer Roper and Lewis A. Roper II, and Grace and Nickolas Vankalker. Also by his sister Bonnie Vankalker, and his second wife Brenda Dunn. He is survived by his faithful first wife, Cheryl J. Roper, and their five loving children, Carrie (Troy) Gray, Roberta (Brett) Moreland, Tracy (Joseph) Dwyer, Lewis (Biljana) Roper and Nickolas (Tricia) Roper. Step Daughter Brittany Kilgore. Grandchildren, Brandon, Taylor, Cory, Amber, Tess, Joanna, Kyle, Grace, Zachary, Lexy, Emma, Abby, Maja, Serenna and Megan. Also by his dear Aunt Rosa Shearer, sister Tina Bluestone, cousins and niece, along with his beloved dog Laci. Lewis was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He retired from Boyd Construction of Hobart, IN, and was a blue collar, hard worker. He loved his babies, nature, bird watching, westerns and cold Miler Lite. He was also an avid sports nut, who from time to time could be found dabbling in a tea party with his sweet granddaughter Emmy. He will forever be loved by his family and will be dearly missed. Go Cubs Go! World Series 2015 or Bust! Visitation Monday June 8, 2015 at Saint Francis Xavier Church, Lake Station. Viewing 9-10am, Mass to follow. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the family, to defray funeral expenses.

To my Roper Family. Words cannot express how truly sorry I am for your loss. All of you and Lew were a part of me since I was 15. You all were my momma,brothers and sisters. He was a great man and will be missed. He is in heaven now looking down at all of you. Till we see him again. I love all of you.
