Clarice Butler Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 12, 2016.
Clarice Ann Butler, 80, of Claremont, died Friday, Sept. 9, 2016, at Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester.

Friends may greet the family from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 13, at  Brick-Meger Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the funeral at the church. There will be a rosary recited at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14, at St. Francis de Sales Church, Claremont. Interment will take place at the church cemetery.

Clarice was born in Blooming Prairie, the daughter of Clarence and Marie (Kvasnicka) Kruckeberg on Sept. 11, 1935. She attended primary school in Blooming Prairie and moved to Claremont in fourth grade where she then graduated high school in 1953. On May 21, 1955, she married Joseph Paul Butler. From this union they had seven children: Baby Butler, Dave Butler, Mary (John) Gookin, Joe (Joyce) Butler, Jane Kidder, Rick Butler, Becky (Jon) Schneider. Clarice was a homemaker, worked at Pamida, and retired from Claremont school as a cook.

She spent her years in retirement traveling with her husband in their motorhome. Clarice and Joe traveled to Nashville, Branson, California and Wyoming with their lifelong friends Jack and Rosemary Bloomquist and Rosie and Emauel Kes. The couple also enjoyed adventures with their grandchildren: Tanya (Jon Marsden) Kidder, Angela (John Glawe) Butler, Nate (Jes) Kidder, Joe (Emily) Butler, Mark Butler, Dawn Schneider, Marit Gookin, Aaron Butler, Clay Gookin, Jay Schneider, Nicole Schneider, Kiana Butler, Sarah Gibert and family and Miranda Skalicky and family. More recently, Clarice adored the laughter, energy and excitement of her great-grandchildren, her little angels: Anna Urhammer, Luca Butler-Alexander, Kaylee Butler, Mallory, Hailey, Landon and Kolton Marsden and Kryssa Kidder.

Clarice remembered baking with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her recipes will be treasured forever. The little things with her kids, grandkids and great-grandchildren will be cherished for generations to come.

Clarice was preceded in death by her first-born child, Baby Butler; her parents, Clarence and Marie Kruckeberg; her granddaughter, Shannon Kidder; her husband, Joe Butler; as well as relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the St. Francis de Sales Catholic Cemetery are preferred.
