William Bucheger Obituary

Bucheger, William Raymond "Bill"

William Bucheger, 66, Neenah, entered into eternal life on Monday, August 4, 2014. He was born on September 17, 1947, to Hank and Maryann Bucheger of Glidden, WI. He grew up in the Glidden area and then moved to Butternut where he and his wife, Cheryl were married on June 24, 1978 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. They moved to Neenah in May of 1989 and called Neenah their home since. Bill worked as a logger in the early years and then when moving to Neenah, was employed by Menasha Corporation. He retired a year and a half ago from the packaging plant. Bill thoroughly enjoyed retirement. He was a kind, generous man that loved to strike up a conversation with anyone he met. He loved to tell a good joke. His laughter, kindness, and love for telling a good story will be deeply missed by those he loved. William is a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Parish, Neenah.

William's life is celebrated by his wife: Cheryl; son: Raymond (Julia) Bucheger; daughter: Julie (James) Cooney; two grandchildren: Max and Mabel; siblings: Agnes (Jim) Haun, Evelyn Matterer, Albert (Kathy) Bucheger, Margie (Gerald) Brown, Carrie (Bill) Drewel, Rosie (Mark) Schmidt, Steven (Judy) Bucheger, John (Sheri) Bucheger, Helen Herrmann, Alice (Bob) Schuelke, and Larry Bucheger; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

William was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother: Matthew.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m., Friday, August 8, 2014, at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 900 Geiger St., Neenah, with Fr. Larry Seidl officiating. Interment will be in St. Margaret Cemetery, Neenah. Visitation will be at the church Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Memorial contributions may be made to Food for the Poor Inc., 6401 Lyons Rd., Coconut Creek, FL 33073.

Bill loved his family and his life. We will all miss him dearly.

My name is Carie Roovers, and I used to work with Bill at Menasha Corp. back in 1999-2008. I left in 2008, but sometimes I would take my break with him and he always talked about his wife and son and daughter. So much so that I felt like I knew his family. He always reminded me of what an awesome Dad would be like, my relationship with my own dad was not that great. So I feel blessed that I knew him for the short time I did, and you guys were very blessed to have him as a husband and father. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Sorry to hear of your loss. Saw it in Glidden Enterprise this morning. Knew Bill a long time ago in Glidden/Butternut. I remember he often MC'd Glidden/Butternut events and always provided colorful commentary and humorous stories. All around good guy.

I'm still in shock about this one! Of all the many cousins, Billy was one that could always be counted on - to lend a hand when needed or MC any event or tell a joke to keep us laughing. His absence will leave a large empty space in future family gatherings. We will miss him greatly but I'm sure we'll continue to feel his presence in spirit.

Our deepest sympathies to the entire family. I will always remember Bill for his unique ability to make everyone he met feel like a lifelong friend. His jokes were only outdone by his own laughter after he told them. He will be missed. Our prayers are with all of you.

My mom has over 70 cousins, but Cousin Billy always stuck out in the crowd--usually because he was at the front commanding attention with his stories and jokes! He will be greatly missed by everyone in his large family.

I,like other neighbors, was in shock after the firemen & ambulance left. That pretty much told us it was not good. Bill was a very nice person. He will be missed by all of us. I saw him drive by around lunch time. SAD DAY in the neighborhood. ANY THING YOU NEED CHERYL DON'T BE AFFRAID TO ASK..
