DONALD AHEARN Obituary
Age 84, of Carnegie, passed away on Thursday, May 10, 2012. He was a 20 year veteran of the Carnegie Post Office. Beloved father of Donald, Richard, James and Luann; loving father-in-law of Margy and Rebecca Ahearn, and John Weagly; grandfather of Jesse, Donald and Michael Ahearn and Shane, Cody and Valerie Weagly. At the request of the deceased, there will be no visitation or service, but a private family wake. He was loved and will be missed. Arrangements entrusted to THOMAS M. SMITH FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY LTD., Blawnox.

Grandpa, even though i know you probably will not be able to read this i trust God will deliver my message when i say you were the best grandpa a kid could ever have! Although i must admit i never took the opportunity to thank-you as deeply as you had affected my life in so many positive ways from when i was just a boy, always making sure i was doing well and keeping a close watch from so far away. I wish you the best grandpa i feel as if my back is broken from not being able to see you one last time due to my own busy schedule.. I seem to take for granted the life that i have been living and just pray that you had accomplished everything you had wanted in your life. like i stated earlier no kid could have ever asked for a better grandfather in my own opinon! The sheer anticipation of receiving your cards come christmas or our birthdays that would never come fast enough. Granpa i love you with all that i am and pray god was holding your hand on the way to heaven, lord knows your a wonderful man and always will be so in everyones heart. I love you grandpa, even if i never got to say an official goodbye i hope you get this somehow someway. signed your grandson

So sorry for your loss. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Having lost my father this past November, I know there are no words that can make everything better and heal your hearts. I did, however, find comfort in knowing he was in a better place and I was not alone.

Uncle Dink was a wonderful man who will be deeply missed. To Donnie, Jimmy, Ricky, and Luann, thank you for sharing him with us! He was a wonderful, loving, bright shining star in our family.
We will remember him fondly.

Seems as though my Dad knew everyone..Dink. He enjoyed being busy and helping others. I am proud to have shared my Dad with everyone. He was a good father and a loyal friend.
My sorrow is great. My life will never be the same. His voice is silent now. But his lessons and advice for me I shall carry on.
Though we must part.,.you will live on in my heart. In his own words..."Let me go. Set me free and be happy for me"

Don was on of the first people that I met when I moved into the Honus Wagner Apartments almost three years ago. I loved talking to Don. He always had a smile on his face. We often laughed about things. He was a very special person. I will miss him. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
