DIERINGER EARL JOSEPH, JR.
On August 5, 2011, Earl Joseph Dieringer, Jr. passed away at his home in Baltimore. He was born on March 10, 1923 in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Earl Joseph Dieringer and Eva Elizabeth Albert. Earl spent his youth in Pittsburgh. After serving in the army in World War II, he played football for Duquesne University, where he graduated with a BE degree in 1952. He spent his professional life in education and sales, retiring from Barnes Distribution Company in March at 88 years old. He was a member of St. William of York Church in Baltimore. He loved crossword puzzles, baseball, golf and family. He was preceded in death by his wives, Elizabeth Hooper and Elaine Gary; a daughter, Patricia; two brothers, Howard and Albert; three sisters, Helen Shaefer, Eva Starr and Catherine. He is survived by two sisters, S. Ann Bittner of Tomball, TX and Margaret Salapa of Pittsburgh, PA; two sons, J. Jeffrey and wife Suzanne of Davidsonville, Douglas and wife Mary of Ellicott City; three daughters, Diane Eltringham and husband Bryn of Marlton, NJ, Joan Ford of Halethorpe, Carol Scott of Columbia; and 15 grandchildren, Lisa Scheib and husband Daniel, J. Jeffrey Jr. and wife Tracey, Lacey Cramer and husband Justin, Lindsay Dieringer, Brooke Mihoces and husband Joseph, Douglas Jr., Caitlin, Maura and Patrick Dieringer; Amanda, Bryn Jr. and Casey Eltringham; Jason and Kyle Ford; Dieringer Scott; and 11 great-grandchildren, Daniel Jr., Cody and MacKenzie Scheib; J. Jeffrey III, Cooper and Raigen Dieringer; Cheryl, Suzanne and Eva Cramer; Michael Mihoces; Victoria Ford. Friends and relatives are invited to visit from 4 - 8 p.m. on Tuesday, August 9 at the STERLING -ASHTON -SCHWAB-WITZKE FUNERAL HOME OF CATONSVILLE, INC. at 1630 Edmondson Avenue; Catonsville, MD 21228. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Noon, Wednesday, August 9 at St. William of York Church; 600 Cooks Lane. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. Agnes Cancer Center, 900 Caton Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21229 in the name of Earl Joseph Dieringer, Jr.
