JOSEPH KORPA Obituary
73, of North Port, Florida, formerly of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, passed away Friday, November 4, 2011, in Port Charlotte, Florida. Born September 21, 1938 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to the late Mildred and Joseph Korpa, Jr. Joseph who enjoyed a long career in insurance, retired as Vice President and business partner of GDK Insurance Corporation in Scottdale, Pennsylvania. A graduate of Pittsburgh's South High School, Class of 1956, and an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan, he moved from his native Pennsylvania to North Port in 2004, where he lived with his wife Norma. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Norma J. Korpa; a son, Mark J. Korpa of Westminster, MD; a daughter, Janine M. Korpa of North Port, FL; four grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, and many extended family members. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at ROBERSON FUNERAL HOMES, Port Charlotte Chapel. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 9, at the funeral home. A private committal will be held by Joseph's family at a later date. Friends may visit online at www.robersonfh.com to sign the memory book and extend condolences to the family. Arrangements are by Roberson Funeral Homes & Crematory Port Charlotte Chapel.

I always knew Joe was a special person. I first met Joe when he came to work at Blackwoods, then several years later I was working at Supportive Services and in walked Joe. What a surprise, so every
time he came I saw him and so enjoyed talking to him. He was a very special person and I'm sure he impacted many lives.
