Kevin HAPPE Obituary
Age 61, passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2017, in Omaha, Nebraska. He was a loving and devoted father to his three sons, Nathan of Bozeman, Montana, Robert and Leo both of Omaha; and "Grandpa Kevin" to his grandson, Keegan Happe of Council Bluffs, Iowa. Kevin earned his postdoctoral degree at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. He had a long and distinguished career achieving tenure in the field of Pharmacology at Creighton University as a neuroscience researcher and associate professor. Kevin was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Evelyn Campbell Happe and Edward E. Happe, Jr. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Karin Strong-Boag. Kevin is survived by his siblings, Krista Hartline, Edward Happe III (Dang), Kimberly Fritz, and Robert Happe all of Pittsburgh, Michael Happe (Kereen) of Denver, and Lou Ann McStay, former wife and mother of his children. Kevin is fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, and cousins. All are welcome to celebrate his life at the Memorial Service on Saturday, March 11, 2017, at Lauritzen Gardens, 100 Bancroft St., Omaha, NE 68108. Visitation at 5:30 p.m. and Memorial Service at 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Nebraska Humane Society. JOHN A. My dog Sammy and I met Kevin and Caesar at the dog park last summer. Kevin was a friendly and kind man. May he rest in peace.

Kevin worked with me for three years. He was a wonderful person and an excellent neuroscientist. He made important contributions to science and he truly left the world a better place. I regret that I cannot attend the services on Saturday. I will leaving town for memorial services for a family member in Ohio. My condolences to the family.

To the entire Happe family- my husband Howard and I knew Kevin for many years, as we trained in the same department at UNMC when he was studying for his PhD. He was a wonderful colleague and friend, one of the nicest and caring people we've known. Our heartfelt condolences to you all.
