The Doris Family:

I was in attendance many years ago at Pat Doris' funeral at St. Rita's. The outpouring of love from that church community for the Doris family was enormous and warm. I consider it an honor to have known this family over these many years. Bert and Pat raised a great family with humor, wit and caring that is shared by all members. Bert was a beacon then and will always be with everyone whose life she touched. Many prayers and thoughts are with you at this time.

Ann and family. So sorry to hear of your loss. I remember your Mom from grade school on up. just think she's dancing with Jesus and that great smile she always had is even bigger than the one she had here. Don't look at the missing piece that is no longer here but focus on the big picture of you Mother's life and all the things she brought into yours. And someday because of your faith you will be able to dance together with her again!!!!

When Charlie & I & our children, Chuckie, Jamie & Tammie moved into Bert & Pat's neighborhood when our children were young, it was instant connection with us & all the kids. Chuckie & Jeff were best buddies. Some of the best years of our lives were spent with the Doris family. We moved to Florida & missed them alot, but never forgot the good times & good friends they were. Our prayers are with Denny, Jeff, Kenny & Ann & their families. Your mom was one special lady with a great smile & I will always consider her my friend. God Bless all of you.

As my thoughts ponder about Bert Doris, I smile. A smile is something that she greeted me with for many years at her second home, The Dance Connection. Many memories have arisen since I learned of her passing. Whether it be her and Sue traveling to Atlantic City, quarters abound, ready for action, on the St. Rita bus trips, or the "crazy" competition venues, I smile.
Bert was always helpful as I became steadfast in my faith journey. She shared with me her deep faith in God, and her adulation of the Catholic faith.
I remember her soft embrace when I lost my mother, and her warm words of wisdom.

"There is no velvet so soft as a mother's lap, no rose as lovely as her smile, no path so flowery as that imprinted with her footsteps." Archibald Thompson

Bert Doris surely made an imprint on my heart.
Peace be with her Family,
Love,
Cris, Frank and Ashley Broderick
