Herrmann, Horst R.

Horst R. Herrmann born in Frankfurt, Germany on August 10, 1934 passed away on Nov. 5, 2017. Horst is survived by his wife Polly and 2 children- Monika (John) Deskur and Anita (Mike) Olin- Grandchildren Aaron, Nick and Cori . He met his wife Polly, while she was teaching in Germany and immigrated to the United States, where he served in the US Army in Ft. Riley, Kansas. He retired from CAE Link as a Program Administrator after 30 Years. Horst was a dedicated gardener and liked to hunt with his friends Cheech Machalik and Mike Skrzypek. He also was the treasurer for Mountain Trail Bowhunters for numerous years and will be missed dearly. His hobbies also included working with computers and keeping his friends and relatives out of computer trouble. Horst had returned to his homeland of Germany for many visits and has kept traditions alive for his family.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am Monday at the Hopler & Eschbach Funeral Home, 483 Chenango St. Binghamton. Burial will follow in Vestal Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 5:00-7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers consider a gift to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, (pulmonaryfibrosis.org).
