To the Taugher family: I worked with Eleanor at the Workers Compensation Board in Binghamton. What a special lady, Eleanor was, so beautiful on the inside, and also so beautiful on the outside. She would have lunch with us on some days and we always had many laughs with her at our lunch table. We really enjoyed her company. She was truly a very special soul! Wishing you peace, comfort and strength

To the Taugher family. We are so sad to hear that your mom has passed away. She was a beautiful person who brightened up every room she ever entered. We have always admired your family. We hadn't seen your mother for quite a few years. We moved to North Carolina back in 1979 but have always heard from our family up north news which many times included something about the Taugher's and the Kane's. Our prayers are with all of you at this time.

My sincere sympathy to the entire Taugher family. I recall that my parents were friends of Bob and Eleanor Taugher. When passing by the Chestnut house there was always a group there and more were always welcomed. She and her husband Bob were wonderful and caring friends of our family for as long as any of us can remember. They took an interest in each of us, had a word of support and encouragement for each of us and shared with us their love, their laughter and their positive warmth. When I think about all the good that there really is in the world I think of Eleanor and Bob so easily. God rest them and keep them. I will.

Tim, Robert, Karen, Eileen, Sheila, Molly & Susan,
Please know of our sympathies over the death of your mother. Your parents are well-remembered by our family: your dad, always sharing an insightful political analysis of the leadership of the day, and your mother ever quick to know of the happenings in the church and around our worlds. They were wonderful to the many, from near and far, welcomed onto the front porch and around the dinner table at 65 Chestnut St. Thank you for sharing both of them with us. May she join the Restful Peace of Our Lord. (PS Eleanor's recipe for Tomato Aspic is returning to popularity!)

I join in your grief at Eleanor's passing, but look forward to a celebration of a great life. Your family and home were very much a part of my own young adult life and I am very grateful for those blessings. It was always fun to join in family celebrations on Chestnut St over the years. My years at St. Pat's were a great beginning to ministry, mainly due to families like yours. Know of my love and prayers.

Deepest sympathies to the entire Taugher family. Growing up as a member of the "neighborhood," I sure had many fond memories of the entire Taugher family. Mrs. Taugher was one of those parents who involved not only with her family but all the families in the neighborhood and especially our St. Pat's Church community. A very special lady indeed.

Father Tim, Molly, Tom and the Taugher family,

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Mrs. Taugher. Losing a parent is difficult at any age, but when it is your mother, the giver of life, the nurturer, the teacher, the example of God's love in a child's life, I find to be the most difficult loss.

Although I had only met Mrs. Taugher a few times, it is obvious that she was a wonderful woman as evidenced by the way her children exemplify her love of God and family and have passed this on to the next generation of children.

You are in my thoughts and prayers that these days ahead will be eased knowing that your mother is resting in the palm of God's hand, still watching over her precious family.

January 23, 2012

My prayers go out to the entire Taugher family. I spent many days of my youth at the Taugher house, and Mrs Taugher always kept the neighborhhood kids in line. I am sure she will be dearly missed and my thoughts are with the Taugher family. (Bill Meagher-Summit NJ)
