George Wickizer Obituary
Binghamton: George F. Wickizer (Bill) 92, Binghamton, went to be with the Lord unexpectedly Monday, February 9, 2015. He was predeceased by his wife of 72 years, Elizabeth. He is survived by his children; son, Brent (Kay) Wickizer, Binghamton; daughter, Lori (Dale) Loomis, Vestal; his five grandchildren, Eric (Hope) Wickizer, Apalachin; David (Kimberly) Lee, Virginia, Mary (Ron) Ford, Nevada, Amy Wickizer, Binghamton, Chad (Victoria) Lee, North Carolina and by his six great-grandchildren, Collin Wickizer, Sydney & Isabel Lee, Gavin Ford, Jaccob & Caiden Lee. He was also survived by his best friend, Angelo Ranieri. (We thank you Angelo for all you've done for our dad). Our dad remained very active right up until the time of his death, he belonged to his beloved Greene Rod & Gun Club, where he had many friends and continued to trap shoot weekly. He belonged to a bowling league, and had poker nights with his buddies. He was a tool and die maker most of his life before becoming Broome County's sealer of weights and measures. Our father was loved by many and had more friends than you can count. Dad left us a legacy of ethics, values, honesty and integrity. Funeral Services for Bill will be held on Saturday at 12 PM from the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott, with Pastor Randy Eliason of First Assembly of God in Binghamton officiating. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home, Saturday from 10 AM until service time at 12 PM. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in Bill's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, A.L.S.A.C. 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

I still miss this man. We spent a lot of time together camping at Sandy Pond and he was my bowling partner in the Press Doubles for years. Such find memories of a good, honest man. It warms my heart thinking of him and his laugh and I'm a better person from knowing him.

Dear Wickizer family:In the past 12+ years, I have considered both of your parents/grandparents to be 2 of my very best friends! They accompanied Gary and me to concerts, dinners, stores, Masses, and of course coffee shops. Betty and I spent hours shopping, drinking coffee, and just talking. How I miss her! I can't imagine how difficult it's been for your Dad after her passing. When I was with him since she passed, he would often say, I love her now more than ever! They had such a special love which is their legacy for your whole family, and the humor that was always intermixed made them just a joy to be around! The pride they shared for all of you was evident in the stories they told, but could also be seen in the twinkle in their eyes. My fondest memory of Bill is when he would tell the stories of his beloved Dakota, and how she ate ice cream just like a lady! My fondest memories of Betty was when she would just laugh and laughabout the sugar in her coffee, about a Great-grandson who would say his prayers and receive a coin, and then say, Want to hear them again, Grandma? Bill called me his secretary and I accepted that title with pride! They always had a kind word for everyone, and I will miss them more than I can say. May God bless you at this difficult time, and may you take comfort in knowing they are reunited in Heaven for eternity!

We truly feel blessed to have had the pleasure of knowing & loving Bill. He always made us smile. He was an amazing person & so very proud of all of you..his family. He will be so greatly missed by all knew him. Try to find comfort in knowing he is at peace & happy to be with his beloved Betty. Lori, Chad and David: I cannot express my sympathy. This man was a role model for you, and a better person you could not have to look up to. To the Wickizer family: My condolences on the death of your father, grandfather, friend, etc. I worked with him at GE and Universal Instruments prior to his work with the County in Weights and Measures. He was well-liked and many friends there. At 92, your father outlived most of them.Your father has gone to a better place and may The God of all of us give the strength and grace you need as you walk through this vale of tears. Your father lived a long, full life and you can be very proud of that. He probably be very busy for awhile in Heaven in seeing old friends.
