Charles E. "Bud" Bacigalupi

Born December 1, 1922 in San Francisco, passed away at home in Sonoma on December 22, 2010. He was 88. He was the dearly beloved husband and best friend of June Murphy Bacigalupi for 67 years. He was the loving father of Janice Alcayaga (Alan), Nancy Carvalho and Lisa Fitt. He was the adored grandfather of Joseph, Patrick and Jeffrey Alcayaga; Christian, Nicholas and Dominic Carvalho; and Amanda Fitt. He is also "Poppie" to his eleven great-grandchildren. A 1941 graduate of Sonoma Valley High school, Bud served in the US Army in France during World War II where he received the Silver Star for Bravery. He retired in 1977 from the Napa Office of the California Highway Patrol after 27 years of Service. He was preceded in death by his adored son-in-law Richard Carvalho. The family wishes to extend special thanks to Dr Rony Kako, Dr A. Vaziri, Dr. Wendell Wenneher, Dr Sergio Manubens, Dr Ari Umutyan and Hospice by the Bay. Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Wednesday, December 29, 2010, at 1:00 p.m. at St Francis Solano Catholic Church, 469 Third Street West, Sonoma, CA 95476. For those who desire, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice by the Bay, 190 West Napa Street, Sonoma, CA 95476 or to the Charity of your choice.
