Carolyn Brown Obituary
She was born on Dec. 16, 1964, to Arby and Dorothy Brown. She was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Arby and Esther Brown; maternal grandparent, Robert Henderson; uncles, Robert Lee, Charles Brown and Raymond Thweatt; aunts, Isaphine Smith and Elois Wade.
Carolyn received her education in the Petersburg Public School System and she graduated with the class of 1983. She received her master's degree from Virginia State University. She was employed by the Defense Commissary Agency at Fort Lee, Va.
Carolyn leaves to cherish her memory her loving parents, Arby and Dorothy; three sisters, Felicia Daniel (Lorenzo), Patricia Hughes and LaTonya Taylor; one brother, Arby Brown Jr.; a nephew, Lorenzo Taylor Jr.; devoted friend, Harvey Johnson; grandmother, Carrie Henderson; goddaughter, Quanisha Mallette; godgranddaughter, Rumiyaha Jones; five aunts, Luna Daniel of New Jersey, Florence Brown, Florine Brown, Rosa Williams (Robert) and Christine Parson, all of Petersburg, Va.; four uncles, Jesse Henderson of Richmond, Va., John Henry Brown, Robert Brown (Yvonne), Sherman Brown (Janet), all of Petersburg, Va.; a host of cousins, three devoted friends, Barbara Mallette, Verney Permenter and Tammy Tonic; and the staff of Defense Commissary Agency.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 9, 2010, at the Good Shepherd Baptist Church, 2223 S. Crater Road, Petersburg, Va.; the Rev. Barry Brown officiating, the Rev. Jeffrey Reaves, eulogist. Interment to follow in the Dinwiddie Memorial Park Cemetery, Petersburg, Va.
The family will received friends at 1640 Johnson Road, Apt. 125-A, Petersburg, Va., and may be contacted at (804) 732-1266.

Life is but a Stopping Place
Life is but a stopping place,
