Marie V.B. Richardson

Marie Virginia Blaha Richardson, 95, of Colonial Heights, widow of P. Blake Richardson Jr., passed away Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2010, at her residence. Born in Petersburg, she was the daughter of the late Matthew Frank and Christina Zaruba Blaha. She was a lifelong member of St. John Catholic Church, and the Ladies Auxiliary of both the American Legion Post 284 and V.F.W. Post 2239. She was the retired owner and operator of Marie's Beauty Shop in Colonial Heights.

Mrs. Richardson is survived by her daughters, Marie V. Richardson and Doris R. Swearingen, both of Colonial Heights; grandsons, Ted L. Swearingen Jr. and wife, Susan, of Leesburg, and Blake R. Swearingen and wife, Candice, of Colonial Heights; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 10, at St. John Catholic Church, with the Rev. Msgr. Joseph Pham, celebrant. Interment will follow at Southlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church for one hour prior to the service.
