BEATRICE W. PARRISH

Beatrice "Bea" Wooten Parrish, 88, of Chester, VA, departed this life on Wednesday, March 1, 2017. From her birth in Buckingham, VA, on January 10, 1929, to her death on Wednesday, she nourished people around her with love and faith. Ms. Parrish was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Bernard L. Parrish; daughter, Susan D. Davis; brother, Melvin Wooten; and parents, Charles Burton and Blanche Farrar Wooten. In 1960, Ms. Parrish was employed by Virginia Electric and Power Company (aka, Dominion VA Power) and served as a Statistician for 39 years, retiring in 1989. She was a Baptist Deaconess and a devoted choir member. Ms. Parrish was a devoted member of Chester Baptist Church for 51 years, serving her church in many capacities.

She is survived by her beloved grandson, Ronald FaJohn and wife, Lisa and two great-grandchildren, Ashley and Joseph FaJohn of Midlothian, VA; brother, Charles Sherman Wooten of Buckingham, VA; sister, Shirley W. Wharam and husband, Patrick of Richmond, VA; sister, Patricia W. Burchett of Henrico, VA; sister, Rev. Carolyn W. Isley of Greeneville, TN; sister-in-law, Carolyn Parrish of Chester, VA; sister-in-law, Elsie Almand and husband, Edward of Dundas, VA; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 4, 2017, at Chester Baptist Church, 4317 School Street, Chester, VA 23831, with The Reverend Dr. Lloyd Braswell officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10 to 11 a.m. The family is being served by the Chester Chapel of J.T.
