So very thankful that we had a visit from him just before Christmas! He was a faithful and true friend to my Dad (Doug MacLeod) and to us! A very special guy who will be greatly missed! Our thoughts and prayers are with Russ's family and friends.

We had the great privilege of enjoying the company of this gallant, wonderful gentleman since we became his neighbor in 2005. Every few months we would double date - either at our house or at the Squantum Club, and luxuriate in his conversation and his wit.
We greatly enjoyed his opinions about current events and the arts, always including the latest exhibit at the RISD museum, and we especially treasured hearing from him about the Barrington of the past.
Russell charmed our little boy, soon to be 8 years old, who always looked forward to exchanging jokes with him.
We send our deepest condolences to all others who loved him; in our brief time together we came to love him as well.

Russell was one of my two brothers, Pret and Bubsy Gladding's best friends. It will be strange to come to Barrington without seeing him. He was the last of "the group"

I am devastated by the loss of Russ. He was one of my father's very best friends and after Dad (Doug) died, Russ came frequently to the office to "check in on the girls" (me, sister Jeanie, daughter Becca). He just came by before Christmas! My husband and I had the pleasure of cruising in Scotland in 2000 with Dad, Russ & Sukie. What fun!!! He was absolutely one of my most favorite people in the whole world and will be sorely missed. I can still hear his laugh. Thinking of all of you!

I had the pleasure of sailing with Russ aboard Quartette in August 2005. He was a true gentleman and a great shipmate.I feel very fortunate to have met Russ and he will be missed but not forgotten.

At every gam I would seek him out to talk. It was always a pleasure. I learned things I would never have known otherwise. (i.e., that the Lockheed P-38 was a really heavy airplane, even though it flew at great speed for that era.) He will be missed.

Russ was a great sailor and racer. I crewed for him in several Ancient Mariner races and he crewed for me on my boat crossing the Gulf Stream. Wonderful, entertaining gentleman and we are all better for having known him.

To the family of Russ Field. I am terribly saddened by learning of the death of Russ. He was a dear friend and astute business colleague.Just yesterday I viewed his interview on the PBS documentary about Tabor Academy ,of which he was a graduate. Russ served with me on the Citizens Bank Board and his advice was always sound and well reasoned. He also was a man of compassion and possessed a wonderful sense of humor.I extend my deepest sympathies. Sincerely, George Graboys
