Melvin Feick Obituary


Melvin "Mel" B. Feick, 72, of Birdsboro, PA, passed away on March 11, 2016, at home, of natural causes. Mel was born in Birdsboro, PA, to his parents, the late Leroy C. Feick and the late Pauline E. (Berkley) Feick.

Mel was married to his wife of 32 years, Sandra "Sam" L. (Hollick) Feick, at home.

Mel was a veteran of the U.S. Army & Air Force. He was deployed during Desert Shield and also in support of the Kosovo conflict, as well as various other missions.

Mel worked for the former Firestone Tire & Rubber in Pottstown for 16 years. He also worked for the PA National Guard as a Technician for the 271st Combat Communications Squadron at Ft. Indiantown Gap.

He was a member of the Union Lodge 479 F & AM, life member of the VFW Post 411, and a Past Commander and life member of the American Legion Post 626. Mel also formed the "Melvin's Marauders," a marching unit with the American Legion.

Surviving along with his wife are a son, Melvin B. Feick, and his fiancée, Susan Durachko, of Royersford, PA; step-son, Michael W. Fischer, husband of Kristin, of Bernville, PA; step-daughter, Kathryn E. Bagenstose, wife of Christopher, of Shillington, PA; brothers: Ray Feick, husb and of Faye, of Gilbertsville, PA; Roy Feick, husband of Patricia, of Birdsboro, PA; Nelson Feick, husband of Elaine, of Birdsboro, PA; and Clyde Feick of Exeter Twp., PA; sister, Fern Rudolph of Mohnton, PA; and nine grandchildren: Brandon; Aubree; Emily; Abigail; Zoe; Ian; Sydney; Grace; and Jackie. Many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by three brothers: Robert; Floyd; and Morris; and a sister, Doris Bacilli.

The family would like to thank the McGlinn Cancer Institute, Heartland Hospice, especially their team: Lori; Rena; Nichole; Brooke; and Martie. Sam would like to acknowledge and thank Fran and Alan who were with them from the day of diagnosis.

There will be Masonic Service at 3:00 p.m., followed by a Celebration of Life Service to be held on Sunday, March 20, 2016 at the Dengler Funeral Home, Inc. 144 N. Spruce St., Birdsboro, PA 19508. A visitation will be held at the funeral home before the service from 1:30-3:00 p.m.
