He was the loving husband of Barbara Ann (Hufford) Dotterer. Born in Allentown on March 4, 1941, Larry was the only child of the late Royden and Lillian (Christman) Dotterer.
He was a Northwestern Lehigh High School graduate.
Larry was a hardworking man and was employed for over 20 years as a Shipping Supervisor for Glidden Paints in Reading.
He volunteered with Union #13 Fire Co. and was a
member of the Riverside Beneficial. He was a coach with the Reading National Little League for 10 years and with the East Reading Athletic Association for 10 years.
Larry was a huge sports fan but his favorites were the Philadelphia Eagles, the Philadelphia Phillies and the Penn State Nittany Lions. He enjoyed watching the Little League World Series, Girls Softball, WWE and was a fan of Jeff Gordon. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Spending time with his family on holidays, picnics or birthdays made him very happy; his grandchildren were the apple of his eye.
In addition to his wife, Barbara, Larry is survived by three children: Deborah A. (Dotterer) Keller and her
husband, Charles "Chuck," of Reading, Keith A. Dotterer and his wife, Christine (Eyrich), of Leesport, and Wayne S. Dotterer and his wife, Stephanie (Northeimer), of Shillington; six grandchildren: Anthony "Steve" Ferreri and his fiancée, Lauren Fenstermacher, Gage Dotterer and his wife, Grace (Titus), Cory Ferreri and his fiancée, Angie Phillips, Samantha Dotterer, Zoe Dotterer and Cameron Dotterer; and one great-grandchild, Hoyt Dotterer.
Services for Larry will be on Thursday, March 9, 2017, at 11 a.m. in Auman's, Inc., Funeral Home, 390 W. Neversink Rd., Reading, PA 19606.
