David served in the U.S.Navy from 1967 - 1971 and received his Bachelor of Arts from Humboldt State University in 1975.
David married Trudy Dolson in 1967.
He is survived by his wife Trudy Dolson of Red Bluff, CA; son Darren Dolson of Sequim, WA; daughter Denielle (Peter) Birks of Columbus, MS; grandchildren, Margaret & Benjamin Birks, In-Laws, Jim & LouAnn McFarland of Red Bluff, CA Brother & Sister-in-Law, Samuel & Mindy Dolson of Riverbank, CA.
Memorial Contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society or to St. Elizabeth Hospice of Red Bluff.

Saddened to learn of Dave´s passing.
We had some memorable times at Humboldt State playing football and hunting ducks. Went out in the double scull on the bay hunting ducks. He was featured on the Bell Lange sports show.
We drove to my parents one in central Ca. once to work on my `56 Chevy and traveled to San Jose to visit a girlfriend and roommate which I knew.
Yes, Dave I have fond memories and you are missed my friend.

Trudy & family:
Dave was such a knowledgeable man. Quiet & a true gentle man. I will always remember his kindness-from my first days of working with him in Los Molinos to the last. How much he shared his love of life & family. It was always a delight to see Trudy & Dave together. May God lessen your sorrow & strengthen your memories.

Dave was one of my biggest competitors aiming for the top 5 in PE for the orange Tiger "A" letter award. We have gone our separate ways after high school but never have forgotten him all these years.
I did run into him during Redding's "Kool April Nights" in 1997. It was great to see him.
Dalee was even my cub scout master when I was just a tyke.

David and I had some very good times and great laughs (his laughing at me and my inability to shoot a shotgun) duck hunting, -David getting the ducks while I watched- fishing and playing football; I will always cherish those memories.
