Laura Yrigollen Obituary

In Loving Memory

Laura Bonanno Yrigollen

January 29, 1991 – December 11, 2010

Laura Bonanno Yrigollen, new wife, daughter, sister, and shining light went home to be with the Lord on
Saturday, December 11, 2010.

She is survived by her husband Logan Yrigollen, parents Rich and Janine Bonanno of Redding, CA, and siblings Julia (Rochester, NY)), David (San Diego, CA), and Daniel Bonanno (Redding, CA) as well as grandparents Sam and Helen Bonanno of Rochester, NY and Jim and Sue Cammilleri of Malabar, FL.

Laura worked as a barista at the Safeway Starbuck's on Cypress Avenue in Redding.
She also took classes at Shasta College.

Laura fulfilled a life's dream last summer as she married her sweetheart, Logan Yrigollen, on June 4, 2010. Some worried that she was too young to marry, but the couple was determined and those who knew them, knew that this was a match made in heaven. Laura and Logan were crazy for each other and were blessed with six months as man and wife.

Smiles and laughter.
A caring spirit.
Passion for husband and family.
A heart for the Lord.

Laura touched so many during her short time in our world. Within hours of the news of her passing, her image graced dozens of Facebook pages. Never alone. Always smiling. Clearly, this brown-eyed beauty brought light to all who knew her.

Every story of Laura recounts her effervescent smile and contagious laughter. When Laura laughed, everyone laughed. It was something she shared with her family, her friends, even strangers.

Laura never knew her own beauty. In fact, she cared little for the trappings of high maintenance. She was known to wear different colored socks and carried the same tattered pink wallet she had as an eighth grader. It just didn't matter to her which, of course, made everyone love her that much more.

What mattered to her was her relationship with the Lord and her passion for her husband and family. She desired to know all she could of her God and looked to her Christian faith to help her through some difficult times. She would fall asleep looking at scripture verses she had painted on her ceiling, taking courage from a faith she was raised with but one she made her own.

Laura shared a special bond with her parents as well as her siblings. She knew she had been raised with the utmost of love and told her friends how much she looked up to her parents. Her brothers, too, played a special role. She and David shared the middle spot of four kids, she being the younger of the two. Her age did not mean that Loud Little Laura was content to play the submissive role. She made herself known. And Daniel, the baby, she teased mercilessly, often chasing him over couches and down hallways. The pursuits always ended in peals of laughter and a pile of love. And it was her sister Julia she chose to support her as Maid of Honor at her wedding. The two shared a bond only sisters can understand.

Many things made Laura happy but her happiest moment came when she said "I do" on a rainy day in June. The new Mrs. Yrigollen settled into her life as a married woman. Who knew how short the time?

It is with unending sadness that we lay our Laura to rest. But with the sadness comes the joy of knowing that she has met her Lord; that she is in her rightful place and awaits those of us who will come after her. She will smile and laugh as she meets us there and she will hold our hands as she guides us through her eternal home.

We will miss you Laura. You were a precious gift that will stay with us forever.

May you rest in peace.

Our many prayers and thoughts are for your family and Logan and his family at this time. We have thought about you all often this last month. Although we didn't know Laura personally we sure did enjoy our many conversations with you both (Rich & Janine) over the years while Daniel and Colton played basketall. You are a wonderful family and so strong in your faith. Bless you all.

Although we didn't have the priviledge of knowing Laura personally, we have been greatly blessed by having her father as my daughter's math teacher this year at Enterprise High School. He is such a caring man and I have heard nothing but wonderful things about his entire family. My daughter and I have been deeply saddened by the loss of their precious daughter here on earth. We will continue to pray for peace and comfort to Laura's husband, parents, siblings, friends, and all who love her, until the day that they are joined once again in the Lord's Glorious Kingdom where there will be joy and happiness forever and ever!
All our love in Christ,

I grieve for Laura, and for her husband and family. I will miss "Gina Lollobridgida"(my nickname for her in school when she was my student) very much. Please know that my thoughts and prayers go out to her entire family.
With love and wonderful memories,
