Dr. Jerold C. "Robbie" Robertson of Fort Collins died on December 8, 2012 at Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins. He was born on March 20, 1933 in Provo, Utah to Herbert Alden and Arthella (Carter) Robertson. Robbie graduated from Chinook High School in Chinook, MT and received his PhD in Chemistry from Brigham Young University. He was a chemistry professor at Colorado State University and retired after 35 years of teaching. Following retirement, he worked an additional 5 years for the Environmental Services at Colorado State University. He married Margaret Halliday in London, England. After completing his military service they moved to the states. They loved to travel and explore the world together. Robbie was a fun loving person who always enjoyed telling a good joke. He loved people, building model airplanes and going fishing. He and Margaret built their own home in 1962. He looked forward to visits from children and grandchildren and they loved to be around him. Robbie fought a spirited battle against the effects of Parkinson's disease over the last 25 years and he never lost his humor and kindness. He was an example to all his family of endurance with grace. He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, most recently of the Huntington Hills Ward, and enjoyed serving in many capacities over the years. Robbie was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Arthella Robertson and is survived by his wife, Margaret Robertson; his children, Philip Robertson (Sharma) of Longmont, David Robertson (Tina) of Fort Collins, and Elizabeth Rae (Owen) of Gainesville, FL; a brother, Herbert Robertson (Elizabeth) of Kerns, UT; sisters, Kay Christenson (Steve) of Quincy, CA and Shirley Sarver (Tony) of Liberty, MO; 13 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 15, at the Huntington Hills Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints located at 6521 Carmichael St., Ft. Collins, Co.
