GAJEWSKI

Steve S. Gajewski, 85, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family by his side on January 18th 2010 . He was born on December 25, 1926 in Gary, Indiana to John and Mary Gajewski. He married his bride Helen of almost 64 years on February 9, 1946.

Steve was raised in Gary, Indiana, attended the University of Alabama and entered the Air Force to serve in WWII and the Korean War as a bombardier. He returned from the war and began his career in the automobile industry with Buick Motors in Gary until 1961 and then moved his family to Houston Texas where he continued his career in the auto industry until retiring in 1995 as a Sales Manager for AJ Foyt Chevrolet. He and his wife Helen then moved to Reno Nevada to be closer to his son Stephen and wife Elaine and his grandchildren.

Steve was an active member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church and a Brother of the Knights of Columbus Council 13842 at St. Rose.

Steve is survived by his wife Helen, daughter Sharon and her husband Charles Brown, sons Victor and Stephen and his wife Elaine and their children Kimberly and Austin Gajewski.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2010 at Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Cemetery, 2700 N. Virginia Street, Reno. A viewing will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. with a Mass immediately following. A reception to follow.

In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions to the Knights of Columbus, 100 Bishop Manogue Drive, Reno 89511 or the Kidney Foundation in honor of Steve Gajewski.
