Ryan Penrod Obituary

Ryan Adam Penrod

Ryan was tragically taken away from his family and friends on January 31, 2011, in a motorcycle crash.

Ryan was born February 20, 1980, in Reno, Nevada, and graduated from Reno High School in 1999. Ryan was so full of life and love for everyone and everything. Ryan's parents and brothers were the center of his world and there was not a day that he did not call or stop by to visit. There were no strangers in Ryan's life as he spoke to everyone and they became his friends. Ryan was very outgoing and had a generous heart and soul. Ryan would help anyone, including strangers, if they needed help. Ryan loved the outdoors and went hiking with his dog Kalvin, camping, hunting, fishing, boating, wakeboarding, snowboarding, skiing, and off roading. Ryan belonged to the OutCast Rock Crawlers and loved working on his Rock Crawler and riding in the Rubicon and other areas with his buddies. Ryan's best friends were his father, mother, his two brothers, countless friends too numerous to name, and his dog.

Ryan was a skilled carpenter and worked for various construction companies throughout Reno, and worked construction in Alaska for awhile until he became homesick. He was a perfectionist in his work and expected others to be so also. He took great pride in what he built and created. To Ryan there was no job too big or too small. Ryan was in the process of starting up his own construction company.

Ryan is survived by his parents Dallas and Paula Penrod, brothers Jason Penrod wife Elizabeth, Aaron Penrod, maternal grandparents Jim and Bonnie Cody, Uncle Doug Penrod wife Cathy, Aunt Gayle Skvir husband Ron, Uncle Larry Cody, Cousins Heather, Jamie, Dean, Preston, and Brandon.

Ryan will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him. A site has been set up for friends to remember Ryan with photos and videos. Please upload photos or videos to http://gallery.me.com/rxpilot/100059. These photos and videos will be shown at the Celebration of Life for Ryan.

During Ryan's short time on this Earth, he touched the lives of so many, brought even more together that otherwise would not have been, and made this world a significantly better place. Ryan's memory will live on within all these relationships he has fostered. Son, Brother, Grandson, Nephew, Cousin, and Best Friend, you will be deeply missed.

Ryan's funeral will be on Wednesday, February 9, 2011, at Ranch San Rafael at the Ranch House. Viewing will begin at 1:00 PM with the memorial service at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow at the Mountain View Cemetery immediately after the memorial service. A Celebration of Life for Ryan will immediately follow at 3495 San Juan Drive, Reno, Nevada.

Dallas, Paula and the Penrod Family, We are so sorry that you have lost your precious son, Ryan. How can it be? Wasn't it just yesterday that we enjoyed Webelos and Scouts at Peavine School, camped and played at Plumas Eureka State Park, laughed at our children's antics and spent many joyful hours around the campfire trying to keep our children from setting their clothes on fire with sticks.
Although we haven't seen you in many years, we have treasured our many memories of time we spent with you. We will not be able to attend Ryan's memorial service, but we are thinking about you with love and heartfelt respect.

Although we never had the pleasure of knowing Ryan as a young man, we remember Ryan as a burst of sunshine during his brother Aaron's battle with cancer.
Even as a youngster "family" was everything to Ryan.

To Paula, Dallas, Aaron, Jason and family,
Our thoughts are with you during this most difficult time.
Love to you and may you find comfort in his memory.

What a great soul...I've never known anyone to have a greater love for life. A ray of sunshine that this world will now be without - his smile and laughter (as Lauren said, will be missed greatly). May he rest in peace and know how many lives he touched and blessed & how fortunate we are for knowing him...Thank you Ryan for touching our lives.
May god bless your family as well...

The first thing I thought of when I heard the news of Ryans passing, was him, Brandon, Grump (Jim), and I sitting in the sun room at the grandparents house, chatting away, and Ryans beautiful smile. This was the first, and only time, I had met and talked with Ryan, and though it was a short visit, I have never forgotten it. He told us all sorts of stories about his adventurous life, and it was obvious, he LOVED life! Many thoughts and prayers are with his parents, siblings, family, and friends. May God grant you the peace needed to get through this difficult time, and may he grant Ryan everlasting peace. Wish we could be there to celebrate Ryans life with you....know we are there in spirit!

Love,

February 6, 2011

Ryan, the Zinio family will miss you terribly. You were so kind and easy to be around. Steve always looked forward to the weekly call or visit from Ryan, "just checkinig in". We first met Ryan through Dallas who recommended him for his work as a carpenter; and he was right Ryan was good, meticulous in fact. Ryan, you quickly became a friend and fellow boating enthusiast. We were lucky enough to enjoy your company for several family dinners and could always count on you for a good story.

Our prayers go to the Penrod family, what a beautiful person you brought in to this world that blessed so many lives. We are so sorry for your losss. Ryan will be remembered with the fondest memories.
