Maude Pendleton Bolling

Maude Pendleton Bolling, 89, of Roanoke, died peacefully at her home on Sunday, May 22, 2011. Maude was born in Callaway, Va., went to elementary school at Phoebe Needles and graduated from Callaway High School. She worked at the Dan River Cotton Mill, Stone Printing, and at Bolling Steel Company until her death. She was very proud that she was able to work at Bolling Steel because her two sons, Reid and Jay, along with some of her grandchildren worked there also. She is predeceased by her loving husband, Edwin W. (Ebb) Bolling, and her daughter, Sandra Hatt. She is survived by her sons, Reid Bolling and his wife, Reneé, Jay Bolling and his wife, Dot. Also surviving is a sister, Carol Ann Ferguson; brothers, Howard, John, and Frank Pendleton; grandchildren, Laura Digilio, Deek Bolling, Cole Bolling, Darren Bolling, Andrew Hatt and Lucas Hatt; as well as nine greatgrandchildren. We would like to give a special thanks to her friend, Vicki Lee, for all that she did for her, and to all of her friends at Garden City Baptist Church, where she was an active member. Services will be at Oakey's South Chapel on Brambleton Ave. at noon Wednesday, May 25, 2011. The Rev . Jay Fields will officiate. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at Oakey's South Chapel from 4 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, May 24, 2011. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Garden City Baptist Church.
