Joyce Chavis
LUMBERTON — Mrs. Joyce Lee Chavis, 75, passed away June 27, 2015.
She was born in Clio, S.C., on May 31, 1940, to the late James Alfred and Martha Robinson Knight.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Hubert Chavis; a daughter, Lois Ann Knight; a son, James Earl Knight; and two brothers, Billy Ray Knight and James Alfred Knight Jr.
She is survived by five daughters, Gloria Ann Knight, Mandy Jane Chavis, Betty Joyce Chavis, Margie Rose Martin (Michael), and Diane Chavis, all of Lumberton; three sons, Jimmy Chavis, Hubert Chavis Jr., and Earl Dean Chavis, all of Lumberton; three brothers, Mitchell Knight of Laurel Hill, Horace Knight of Lumberton, and Bobby Ray Knight of Lumberton; two sisters, Ann Bell of Lumberton and Mable Oxendine of Fairmont; 15 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
The visitation will take place from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Victory Christian Fellowship Church of God of Prophecy.
The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Victory Christian Fellowship Church of God of Prophecy, the Revs. Tim Holden and Daniel Locklear officiating. Burial will follow at Oxendine family cemetery of Saddletree.

God is god he loved his angel on earth & he take her to heaven to his love in arms I & my family will always love her but he needed her with him family stay strong with faith & that she is always with us she was a loving mom & a friend pray that we will make it through this but mom will always be miss I love you family ,the McMillan & Newkirks may god be with you love always.
