Susan, Ryan and Lauren - Please forgive this late entry, but I only learned of Tim's passing today and was shocked by the news. I first knew Tim (and later Dennis) when he would come to work at his father Jack's office in Cupertino. Tim was still a student at Los Gatos HS at that time and, what was most impressive, the math classes weren't advanced enough for him there so he was taking classes at West Valley College as well. Another memory is the saga each summer when the Fleming family was on vacation or returning and there would be some incident involving the ski-boat or trailer or the car towing it. I loved working for Tim's dad and at one time he gave me a gift of one of his slide rule's in a leather case.
In time I went on to other working experiences and 22 years later returned to work with Mark Thomas and Company again to find Tim there as one of its principals. Tim's dad would have burst with pride for the man he had become and the leadership as an engineer that he displayed. During that time I remembered the sliderule and returned it to Tim feeling he would appreciate it more than I could. I was saddened when Tim left the company as I was looking forward to the time he would ascend to the CEO position.
All of the other entries I have read here aptly pay tribute to Tim who, though many years younger than I, I regarded as a man with great strength of character, humility, integrity, and great wit.
I pray that God will bless you and your family and comfort you with the knowledge that Tim has ascended to his eternal home. He also lives on in the memories of those whose lives he touched. He touched mine.

I only knew Tim for a couple of short years, but in that time I grew to admire him. I always tried to exchange stories with him whenevre I saw him. I would ask about the stuff in his office and he would tell me about the time when... I will miss his sidelong glances and suspicious looks (I do work in marketing, after all), his terrific dry sense of humor, and his wonderful stories. Tim was a great man who will be missed by everyone who knew him. My condolences to Susan, Ryan, Lauren, and the rest of the Fleming family.

I am deeply saddened by the passing of Tim. He was a wonderful individual both in his personal life and as an engineer. I will always remember him for his dry sense of humor, skill as an engineer and his professionalism in all his business dealings but most of all as a devoted husband, father and friend. He will be missed. My condolences go out to his family

An admired colleague and friend, Tim will not soon be forgotten. His quiet, steady demeanor coupled with his quick wit and sense of humor was always a welcome addition to a conversation, meeting, or gathering. He was a highly respected cornerstone of the engineering community in Sacramento and will be greatly missed. My thoughts and deepest sympathy go out to his family and the many that were close to him.

This is such a huge shock. I'm so sorry for your loss. Tim has been an integral part of the engineering community in Hawaii for many years, and he will be sorely missed. Sending prayers and blessings to his young family, and to all those at HDR who worked with him.

I met Tim in the Porsche Club many years ago. I haven't been active for a while but managed to bump into him once in a while at an event. He was just a terrific warm individual. My heart goes out to his family.

Tim was a friend and fellow engineer. We served on the CELSOC board together and Tim was our contact fpr the engineering on the Grantline Road interchange project as part of the Lent Ranch project. He was a dedicated professional and a fine man. My sincere sympathy to Susan and his family.

To the Fleming family, ours sends as much warmth as we can via the internet. My wife Kristy is an HDR employee, and we lost a child this summer. I had been working with Tim on a project over the last few weeks, but his first questions and thoughts were never about the project, they were always about how we were doing.
We know only too well how small words can seem at a time like this, how people stumble and stammer, trying (futilely) to try and say with inadequate words what they feel in their hearts. We are no different now that we are on the giving side of the words rather than the receiving.
• Tim made his mark on the world, both in physical structures and (more importantly) in the people he touched
• Tim was a GOOD man. He did good things and he treated people well
• He did things that he didn't have to because they were the right thing to do, dotting the I's and crossing the T's
• He did what he loved and he did it very, very well.
Memories of great leaders fade with time; the positive impact of people like Tim is eternal, present in every breath taken by every person impacted by his countless continual choices to take the good path.

Tim mentored me into the engineer and businessman I am today. Without his influence my life would be quite different. He made a difference and will be truly missed.

He was a man greatly admired by all staff at HDR, one of those was me. He will be greatly missed. I still remember our last conversation where he couldn't stop laughing...a memory I will always cherish!
