Margaret Hendren Obituary

MARGARET C. 'PEGGY' HENDREN, 81 MACHESNEY PARK - Margaret C. "Peggy" Hendren, 81, of Machesney Park died at 5:52 p.m. Friday, April 29, 2011, in her home. Born Nov. 22, 1929, in Rockford, the daughter of Hugh and Mary (O'Day) Brankin. Married William Hendren in 1946; he died Dec. 26, 2007. Formerly employed by Clinton Electronics and a former waitress at Green Shutters Restaurant and Howard Johnson's in Loves Park. Margaret was a homemaker who enjoyed bowling, and was a former member of the Moose Club and a Girl Scout leader. She was a wonderful, hardworking and devoted mother to seven children. Survivors include children, William Hendren and Robert (Patricia) Hendren of Machesney Park, Sue Hendren and Lori (Eric Klodt) Hendren, all of Denver, and Teri (Michael) Spillare of Machesney Park; daughter-in-law, Nancy Hendren; grandchildren, Heather, Jeff, Melissa, Jennifer and Stephanie Hendren, Michaela Spillare, David (Dena) Sparks and Gregory Ehlers; great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Elise and Jonathon; many other relatives; special friends, Sharon Spitzer, James Wright, Helen Logan, Mike Burdick and Ann Newman. Predeceased also by parents; daughter, Judi Ehlers; son, Richard; and sister, Mary Jane. A gathering of family and friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, May 6, in Delehanty Funeral Home Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Rockford Rescue Mission.
