Wilbert L. Dovenmuehle, 87 BELVIDERE - Wilbert L. Dovenmuehle, 87, of Belvidere died Friday, Jan. 14, 2011, from a sudden illness. He was born June 20, 1923, to Walter and Lillian Dovenmuehle. Grad-uate of Belvidere High School. Willie served in World War II. He married Ruth Miller on March 25, 1946, in Belvidere. They would have celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary this March. Willie was an operating engineer for Local 150 for 40 years. He worked for Shappert Engineering, Belvidere Construction and Central Grain before retiring in 1993. After retirement, he farmed until recently. Willie never had time for a vacation; he just worked. Lifetime member of VFW. Survived by his wife, Ruth; daughter, Marilyn (Dale) Rhode of Kingston; sons, Dennis (Tammy) Dovenmuehle of Garden Prairie and Ken (Kim) Dovenmuehle of Belvidere; grandchildren, Jeff (Susan) and Tyler (Melissa) Rhode, Dawn (Tyler) McCoy and Cory, Carrie, Kyle and Katie Dovenmuehle; great-grandchild-ren, Isaac and Gavin Rhode, Garrett, Preston and Travis Rhode, Maci and Rachel McCoy; brothers-in-law, Harold and Dale Miller; sister-in-law, Helen Pearson; and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents; brother-in-law, George Miller; sisters-in-law, Sharon and Carol Miller; and great-granddaughter, Reilli Paige McCoy. Service at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 19, in Chapel of Memories in Highland Garden of Memories, 9700 Illinois 76. Burial in Highland Garden of Memories. Visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 18, in the chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family.
