George Parmeter Obituary

George Parmeter - Born on Valentine's Day 1929, he passed on with the heroes on Memorial Day, 5/25/2009. George joins JoAnn, his recently deceased beloved wife of 40 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ora of Burlington Iowa; and siblings Charles, Joe, Marian and Martha. He leaves behind a combined family that will miss him deeply, including sister Kathryn; brothers Edward and John; son Terry; and daughters Linda Alexander, Kathy Vanina, Connie Jo McGee; and stepdaughter Cynthia Wilcock. George and JoAnn had a combined legacy of 16 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Born in Burlington, Iowa, he came to Sacramento 53 years ago, working for Foremost Dairy until its closure. His passion to help others was realized by many years of service with the Masons and Ben Ali Shrine, and the Shiners Hospital of Sacramento. To honor this dedication, the family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to Shriners Hospital for Children, 2425 Stockton Blvd., Sacramento 95817. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Klumps Funeral Home, followed by a reception at the Ben Ali Shrine location on Marysville Blvd May 29 2009 2:00 pm

We love you grandpa. It hurt to see go and at the same it hurt all of us to see you look so sad and confussed. I pray you felt no pain and could hear and understood what I said to you. We will miss you dearly, enjoy the afterlife with your wife and all who have passed before you. Until I see you again... We love you, Mike, Lauren, Marina & Ryan
