Norman Coad Obituary

Norman (Norm) Coad died suddenly at home in The Sea Ranch, California on March 16, 2011. He leaves his wife and best friend, Colette Coad. He was a loving and devoted father of Paul (Tessie) Coad of Los Altos and Heidi Coad-Hermelin (David Hermelin) of Martinez. He is also survived by the loves of his life, his granddaughters, Kaitlin and Emily Coad and Isabella and Sophie Hermelin. He also leaves his brother Curtis (Diane) Coad, and his sisters Claire (Don) Edwardsen and Evelyn Clayton. He is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. He was a third generation Californian born in Sacramento in 1944. He had an amazing range of interests and experiences. He was a woodworker, beekeeper, voracious reader, and mechanic par excellence. He loved The Sea Ranch, working at the Posh Squash Community Garden, flying, cars, teaching poker to his granddaughters, photography, and having parties. He never met a problem he could not solve or something broken that he could not fix. He was an amazingly kind and generous man who leaves a hole in the lives of those who loved him that will never be filled. There will be a celebration of his life on Saturday March 26, 2011 at the Del Mar Center 40600 Leeward Road, Sea Ranch, CA from 2pm to 4 pm. No flowers please. If you wish to remember Norm please send a donation to the Redwood Coast Humane Society PO Box 1072, Gualala, CA 95445 or The Posh Squash Garden PO Box 625, Gualala, CA 95445.
