I am so sorry for your loss. Your husband was a person that was always there to lend a helping hand. I was lucky to be his friend for over 45 years. Even though we didn't see each other often I knew it was always there. I was reflecting tonight on the many times Bert and I were out having fun. We were in high school together, in the army together and he was in my wedding. I can say that he truly cared about others and making sure he was there when needed. I know many people, have a lot of acquaintances , but Bert was a real friend. I prayer for peace for his entire family and know in my heart that Bert is in a better place. Miss you Bert, you were a true friend.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss, Teri. I was not aware that Bert was ill until I read his obituary in the paper. Bert was truly one of the good guys. He was always there to support and lend a helping hand. He exemplified the way a plant manager should manage his school. He was a good role model for his peers and the young men who attended Will C. Wood. I never heard Bert complain about anyone or anything, and everyone on staff liked and respected him. It was a privilege to work with Bert, and an honor to call him a friend. He will be missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

The best that each of us can hope and strive for is that we made the world a better place while we are here, no matter how long or short our stay. Bert embodied that. He made our community a better place with his positive attitude, compassion, and generous heart. He was so kind, going out of his way to help others. Bert was a perfect fit for our school community because he genuinely cared about children and he demonstrated, through his own actions, what it is to be your best self. I will miss him very much. Terri - my heart goes out to you and your family. Your WCW friends share in your grief and wish the best for you.

Dear Terri and family,
I am so very, very sorry to learn of your loss. Bert was such a special person. Although I had known him for several years, I especially got to know him even better when we were on the same district committee. He was a quiet man, steeped in integrity. He truly helped improve communications in SCUSD and he was such a thoughtful person. He generally wasn't the first to speak, because he was processing what others were saying. But when he did speak up, we all stopped talking to receive his words of wisdom.
Such a dear person.
My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Most sincerely,
Carol Bly
