Dan always helped with my Purchasing projects or problems. He teased me a lot about Parks and Recreation, but he never once left me hanging without some sort of good advice. I loved and still love the Purchasing group, no matter if they have retired or are plodding forward, trying to help all the State agencies with their Purchasing needs. Dan came to my Retirement party with Deb and Nancy and I still remember how special that was.....I miss Dan's smile and his, "let's try this first..." Forever in our Hearts

Dan was an awesome person, my grandma worked with him and when I used to go visit her at work I would always make sure to stop by and chat airplanes with Dan.(that usually ended up longer than my visit to my grandma) ... Wishing you blue skies and happy flying forever my friend.

Dear Nena and Family,
I'm sorry to hear about your loss. I worked with Dan in State Purchasing, he was a good friend and mentor. He loved you all and spoke of you often. One of my memories of Dan was he wondered "Why Debbie would jump out of a perfectly good airplane"? Also, he was very “subtle” in convincing co-workers of where to send their children to college by purchasing our newborn babies U of U outfits. I saw Dan as a role model, as he encouraged me to go back to school, which of course, meant signing up for a Logistics class. His encouraging words and expertise will be missed!!
God Bless!

I had the good experience of working with Dan for the past 15 years where I served as an agent for my state division. He was truly a wonderful person and a good friend. We worked through some difficult situations for my company, and he always helped tremendously. He came to my retirement party in July of 2009, along with several of his co-workers, and it meant so very much to me - another token of his character. I just found out that Dan passed away, and am very saddened. It was too soon for this great guy to leave. I wish to send my condolences to his family at this tough time and let them know that Dan will be missed by many of us: friends, co-workers and family. Best wishes to the Reisner family.

In the wake of Dan’s passing, I have reflected on what a wonderful person Dan was. Dan was a “gentleman and a scholar”, especially a scholar of all things related to freight management. My favorite Dan quote is, “Nothing moves for free”. Dan was truly a person without guile. It was my good fortune to have worked with Dan for many years. I will always value our professional association and friendship. Whenever I see an El Camino, I think of Dan. My heartfelt condolences to Nena and family. UPAC meetings just won’t be the same without our Dan.

Dear Nena & family, I first met Dan thru the National Association of Purchasing Managers where he volunteered to conduct the annual financial audit of the association. He also served on the Council of Logistics Management Board and more recently we shared a wall between our offices at the State of Utah. Many days he made me laugh out loud, which I appreciated. Dan was an expert in his field and will be missed by me and all who worked with him.

I met Dan a few years ago when I took over the Small Parcel Delivery Services contract for the State of California. The evaluation team met up in May 2011 in Sacramento for evaluations. We spent three days together, working, eating lunch and just getting to know each other. Christine, Tim, Doug and Dan. Dan was always interested in every one and their interests. He even knew what sports teams we all rooted for, etc. He will sorely be missed.

Dear Nena,Debbie, David and Brian,
Today has been an very sad day for me after learning of my good friend, Dan's passing. I consider inviting Dan to join the Staff at the Utah Division of Purchasing one of my very best decisions. He used his great knowledge and skills to help and benefit all of Utah's citizens. Then, as he became the most widely recognized expert on freight and transportation for state governments in the national, his wisdom benefited states throughout the nation as he led the WSCA Small Package Contracts. I will miss Dan in so many ways. I want you to know that your husband and father was loved and respected by so many and will be tremendously missed. May the Lord comfort you and provide eternal perspective at this very tender time.

Dan was my best friend all through high school. We had many adventures, and our share of misadventures too. He was a good guy then and he grew into a good man. We recently reconnected after many years out of touch and I feel very fortunate to get to re-know him. He was still the same smart, witty, funny guy that I grew up with and will be sorely missed. Peace and blessings to all his family.

Dear Reisner Family, I'm so sorry for your loss. I think so highly of your husband and father. I met Dan I thought for the first time when he was an auditor at Corrections. But after an exercise interviewing each other, we learned that we grew up in the same neighborhood in Long Beach and I pestered him as a child by walking on his surfboard. He lived next door to the Stutsman's. It's a small world. Dan was dependable, knowledgeable, and humorous to work with and I could call him with my "audit purchasing" questions because he knew the business. May you be comforted at this sorrowful time.
