Kent Leroy Godding, Sr., age 71, passed away approximately July 4, 2012 in Gassville, Arkansas.
Born May 2, 1941, Imperial, Nebraska. Utah resident 1989-1994. Graduated Brentwood, CA. high school, lived in Seattle, Washington. Served two years in the Army and deployed to Germany. He raised his family both in Seattle and California. Had a law enforcement career in California. He loved education and contributed much to teachers.
Preceded in death by son Damen Ronald Godding (CA.), infant sister Sandra Louanne Godding (5/14/43 - 11/19/43, CA.) sister Cheryl Lynn Godding Valenciano - passed 4/10/2006 (CA.), mother Agnes Mae Ganshorn Godding Simpkins - passed 7/10/12 (CA.), and father Albert Leroy Godding - passed 11/5/11 (CO.) aka John Edward Walker, adopted by (USN) James Joseph McMenamin 12/12/41 - former printing superintendent for ZCMI Mercantile, former printing mgr. for Utah's Associated Food Store, Inc. and former VP of Salt Lake's Printing House Craftsmen.
Also preceded in death by half-brother Brent Edward (Walker) Godding (Washington State and former Utah resident), half-brother Glenn Newton Simpkins (CA.), step-father Newton Hamilton Simpkins (CA.), step-mother Thelma Lorraine Thompson Godding (CO.), cousin Larry Arvid Johnson (CA.), uncle Lamoine Earl Godding aka Mike, and aunt Marie Godding Johnson (CA.).
Survived by one child (brother) from Albert and Agne's April 13, 1940 marriage, half brothers and half sisters, and grandchildren.
