Annie McGee Obituary

MCGEE
Annie Marie McGee
1914-2013
Annie Marie "Molly" McGee, 08, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away Wednesday, November 27, 2013 in Azle. A grave side service will be held at a later date in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio, Texas.
Marie was born Dec. 17, 1914, in San Marcos, Texas, to the late John and Anna Benneck. Her family moved to San Antonio while she was a child and she retained many pleasant memories of the days she spent there with friends and family members. She and Ennis W. "Fibber" McGee married while he was serving in the Army at Fort Sam Houston. Their only child was born there. After his discharge, the family moved to Fort Worth, where they resided for several years. In January, 1942, Ennis enlisted in the Navy. Marie, always a devoted wife and mother, maintained their home in Fort Worth until Ennis returned from overseas; she and "Patsy" followed as he was stationed at military bases in Texas, Nevada, and California. At the end of WWII, they returned to Fort Worth and resided in Tarrant County. In 1956, Marie and Ennis moved to Bosque County. After Ennis' death in 1982, Marie returned to the Fort Worth area and lived the remainder of her life in Tarrant County.
Marie was kind, generous, and an instant friend to all she met. She was a life member of the VFW Auxiliary and NARF. Marie was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three brothers, and a sister. Survivors include her daughter, Patricia Crowley, and husband, George; granddaughters, Cathy Crowley and Carol Crowley, one great granddaughter, three great-great grandchildren, may friends and relatives.
