I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Harper, when he taught at Margil, I was in his class for about a week, and then he told us that he had to choose one student, and transfer her/he to the other class taught by another teacher Mrs. Hodges. I was very disappointed, because my best friend and i were separated. I am 57 and my best friend and i always remember when he told me that i was the one that had to leave. I would have loved to have been taught by him, because I knew he was an excellent teacher. My condolences to the whole family. I will have him in prayer, and may God always be with you. D'Ann and Family. I just heard about Herbs' passing. My thoughts and prayers go out to you. The moments we spent together are always in my heart. Herb taught me how to brand a cow and tried to get me to jump in front of a 1 ton charging bull. I branded the cow and jumped back when the bull charged. I always thought highly of Herb, and I will always remember him with love in my heart. Best wishes to you all.

I met Herb & D'Ann many years ago, at the beginning of my real estate career. Herb became a true joy to be around very quickly. I will always remember his smiling face and wonderful laugh. He was a man of great kindness, and he always had time for people. The world is a sadder place now that he is gone. He will remain in my thoughts for years to come. D'Ann, my prayers are with you and your family. God bless

I had the pleasure of attending a company trip with Herb and D'Ann several years ago and that's when I got to know Herb. He was such a funny and sweet man who truly loved his family. I don't recall ever seeing him without his amazing smile. I would look for him if I heard he was in the office in hopes of hearing a new story about the ranch or his grandkids which would always make me laugh. I will miss him very much. He left a mark in my heart that will always be remembered.

Dear D'Ann and Family, It has been many years since I've seen you and Herb. I SO DISTINCTLY remember Herb and the kindness of his character that showed through his smile. My heart and my prayers are with you during your time of sorrow. As time passes his spirit will live on through everyone whoes life he has touched. You will be blessed with these memories. Many years have past since I was a part of the "early years" of DAHCB (Jones-Maltsberger & the San Pedro Bank Building) but the memories have not faded. My condolences to all......MLK
