Christy Schmidt Obituary
Christy Schmidt beloved mother, daughter and sister went to Heaven to be with the Lord October 1, 2014. Christy was born in San Antonio, TX May 7, 1978 to Max and Pam (Pack) Schmidt. She graduated from James Madison High School in 1996 and in 2003 received her Masters from UTSA in mathematics. Christy spent the last ten years as a Professor at Northwest Vista College. She is survived by her loving son, Hayden Schmidt; her parents, Max and Pam Schmidt; sister Jenny Santore and husband, Gary; niece and nephew Abby and Ben Santore, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of dear friends.
Services
Visitation will be held from 1-4 PM Saturday, October 4, 2014 at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Sunday, October 5, 2014 in the Chapel at Mission Burial Park North, 20900 IH 10 West. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo or to the Leukemia Association. You may sign the on-line guest book at www.missionparks.com under the obituary section.

I just learned of the shocking news. Christy was an amazing teacher! I had the privilege of being one of her students & its because of her I got through algebra with confidence. My prayers are with her family during this difficult time.

My heart and prayers go out to her son and family. She was an amazing professor and person. I will miss the many laughs we shared in class, and quizzes she promised us we would have. I'm blessed to have know her for this short time and she will not be forgotten. May God bless her and her family.

My condolences to Christy's family. I knew Christy from Northwest Vista. She was a very kind spirit and was always very good to my sons Sebastian and Joshua, when they were work studies. Christy, what comes to mind is how you made me relax and feel I could do anything I wanted to do! I did it! Thank you for the cookie jar analogy trying to teach me algebra. i hate that I can't text you to meet up for dinner! You were a wonderful mother! I remember I was scared, because this was my first time in college, and at that taking algebra! Blessed to have called you a friend in high school, blessed to have called you friend in adulthood as well. My hearts broken for your family and friends but I am surrounding the memories we made, stories shared, getting to watch our kids play together a few years ago, all in the light and love that was you. Christy, our friendship started over a year go when you became my math teacher and then our friendship grew from there. I'm deeply heart broken and saddened to have heard of your passing.
