Alvin Feuerbacher Obituary

FEUERBACHER
Alvin L. Feuerbacher passed away at the age of 83 on February 13, 2013, in San Antonio. He was born to Harry and Lela Feuerbacher on April 17, 1929, in Dallas, Texas. In 1948, Alvin married Josephine Altizer, with whom he celebrated 65 years of marriage. They moved from Dallas to San Antonio in 1964, where they founded and operated Fiesta Travel in Alamo Heights, while Alvin continued a long career as a stockbroker. He was a man of many interests and enjoyed piloting his planes, traveling, hunting, fishing, golfing, photography, gardening, cooking, and painting. He played timpani with the Dallas Symphony and sang with the San Antonio Chordsmen for many years. He also served on the national board of the Barbershop Harmony Society. Active in both Dallas and San Antonio churches, he was also involved in the Rotary Club and the Skal Club of San Antonio, and after retiring he volunteered in the office of the Alamo Heights Police Department.
More than anything, he loved spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife, Josephine, and their five sons: in Dallas, Alan and wife Billie, and in San Antonio, Tom and wife Kristin, Mitchell, Dwayne, and Paul. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren: Jason Feuerbacher and wife Catherine, Dr. Sarah Feuerbacher and husband Jon, Travis Feuerbacher and wife Mandy, Jacqueline Ferrero-Williams and husband Gale, Abra Schnur and husband George, Elise Feuerbacher and fiancée Jeff Varnell; Haley Kroboth and husband John, Aissa Vallecillo, Dylan Feuerbacher, Megan Feuerbacher, Hannah Feuerbacher, and Karl Feuerbacher. His four great-grandchildren are Christian, Taylor, Ruby, and Michael. Other survivors are his sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Lonnie Chesney of Dallas, his brother and sister-in-law, Chuck and Priscilla Feuerbacher of Austin, sisters-in-law, Texan Beaman of Avery and Emily Shanks of Richardson, and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society, or the charity of your choice.
