Edward Gotthardt Obituary
Edward C. Gotthardt, age 81 of New Braunfels, formerly of Seguin, passed away on February 6, 2010. Memorial service will be held on Friday, February 12, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church in Seguin with Pastor William Lange and Pastor Tim Bauerkemper officiating. Enichment will follow in the Faith Lutheran Church Columbarium. A reception will follow in the Life Enrichment Center at Faith Lutheran Church. Ed was born on January 9, 1929 in Guadalupe Co., Texas to Paul and Hedwig Stautzenberger Gotthardt. He will be remembered as the former mayor of Seguin, former corporate vice-president with HEB, active member of Seguin Masonic Lodge AF & AM #109, Alzafar Shrine, Elks Lodge # 1229, and the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #555, the Seguin Chamber of Commerce, the Rotary Club and the Senior Center. He is preceded in death by his parents, son Edward C. Gotthardt, Jr., and brothers, Ben, Clyde, Clifton and Wilburn Gotthardt. Survivors include his wife, Rosa Lee Gotthardt; son, Mills Paul Gotthardt and wife Cindy; sisters, Adeline Brannan, Hedwig (Happy) Hooper, Myrtle Voss, Rosalie Knutson and husband Lyle; sister-in-law, Viola Gotthardt; step-children, Roy Campbell, Sr. and Sidna McHann; grandchildren, Misty C. Blake and husband Justin, Adam P. Gotthardt and wife Krista, Tina Louise Gotthardt, Roy Campbell, Jr., Todd Miller, Sherry Graves; great-grandchildren, Preston Blake, Sage Keys, Desi Norman, Corey Miller, Barbie Campbell and Ava Graves; numerous nieces and nephews. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be members of the Masonic Lodge, the Elks Lodge and HEB employees. Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Lutheran Church Endowment Fund, 1326 E. I will always remember living across the street from Eddie and Rosa Lee on Weizmann. Such good friends to my mom and dad, Jeannine and EH Thormahlen. My prayers are with the Gotthard family.
