Dr. Stecker hired me in my twenties as a sonograger in the mid seventies. I was one of only two people in San Diego trained to do carotid studies with this new technology. He was so smart and so kind to his employees. I still have a scarf he bought back from France for each of the office staff. I was talking about this with others today and decided to look him up. Condolences to his whole family, he helped so many people in his lifetime.

We had a great Neuroscience Department and you were one of the reasons for making it a DOD Center of Excellence. We have you in our prayers.

I worked with Dr. Stecker for 9 years from 83-92. Because of him, I was able to finish my degree in radiology. He accommodated my schedule allowing me to leave during work hours and cover on weekends. I am eternally grateful for him. He was an excellent physician with a kind soul and he will be missed. Deepest condolences to his family.
