RUTH DINGWALL-THOMASON Obituary

DINGWALL-THOMASON, RUTH Surrounded by her loving family, Ruth Dingwall-Thomason passed away peacefully in her beautiful home on January 16, 2011, after enjoying 91 healthy and productive years. Ruth is survived by her husband, Chester "Chet" Thomason Sr., her brother Carl Murray, her daughters Nan McGraw and Joyce Dingwall, her son Harry Dingwall, her grandchildren Garrett Kai, Stuart McGraw, Nikki Slocum-Bradley, Doug Dingwall, Ann Grimm, Carolyn Dingwall and Sylvia McClelland, and ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter Alice Clark, and her sons Paul Dingwall and Bruce Dingwall. Ruth was born November 15, 1919 in Price, Utah. She moved to Salt Lake City after graduating from high school at 16, and began working as a secretary. Moving to San Diego during the 1940s, she raised her children and later worked as an executive secretary. Over a period of over 50 years, Ruth Dingwall-Thomason brought her wise spiritual and psychological teachings to her devoted students at The House of Dingwall, in a program she called The Art of Creative Living. She helped people to feel more free, genuine, and connected to their spirituality. She "walked the walk," as she liked to say, and she was dignified, kind, and gentle, and loving to all of those lucky enough to know her and learn from her. Ruth received her Ph.D. in psychology from La Jolla University and she was an ordained minister with the Universal Church of the Master. Private memorial service. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Mount Helix Park Foundation (PO Box 2733, La Mesa, CA 91943) would be appreciated.

Few people I have met impacted me as deeply as Ruth. Her kindness, caring, love, wisdom and joyful soul were immediately evident. Her understanding of life and willingness to share this with others was a precious gift given to many. Your spirit lives on with those whom you have touched.

Dear Ruth,
I am so thankful to have met you and blessed to experience your spiritual teachings and life lessons. When I first went to the House of Dingwall I was a young man in search of bettering my life. You and Stu helped me accomplish this with your guidance and love. You will always be a shining light and beacon of hope in my life. I think of you often and pray that one day I will see you again in paradise.
Love, Rick

Dear Ruth,
I am blessed to have had you be such a big part of my life and my families. You watched me grow up, my children grow up and always made us feel safe and loved. You are my mentor, my friend, and the best neighbor anyone could ever ask for. I am so grateful for all the time i was able to spend with you over the last 6 years.
I know that the last 3 weeks have been (as you said) quite a ride,so with that being said i am sure your temple is waiting for you. So like you told me so many times theres work to be done.
I will see you again one day my dear friend and i will always hold you close to my heart. I Love You!!
Love,
Lori

Dear Chet & Family

I have loved Ruth since we were little kids, living across the street from one another. Our mothers were sisters and I was three months older than Ruth. We went to high school together and were married just a week apart.

Ruth and I were as close as sisters and we loved one another all through our lives. She deserves a heavenly reward for all that she has done to inspire and elevate others.

I send my deepest sympathy and love to Ruth's family and to Chet. We will all miss her so much.

Ruth as a wonderful person. She made people happy with just her presence and made people feel good about themselves through her engagement with others. I always admired Ruth for taking such good care of herself both mentally and physically. I was comforted knowing that the last of her 91 years was in peace at home with loved ones.

Ruth was a distant cousin who I met only once. I could tell from that meeting that she was quite a person. I can see how she must have been an influence on many, many lives through her good work.

Grandma Ruth, as I learned of your illness and your time nearing many weeks ago, I felt helpless as to what to do and regret not having had the chance to speak with you, listen to you, and look into your beautiful eyes one more time. I will always carry that with me, but know in my heart that you would not want me to fret over that either. Each new report from Aunt Nan would tell me not to disturb you, especially after hearing you were "enjoying the ride."
I'm so blessed to have had you in my life. May your soul live on in peace. xo
