Sid was my cousin and always a gentleman. A few years ago he met me and my daughter at a hotel to take us home to dinner. Unfortunately, we couldn't go but he was, as I remembered him, a kind and caring person. He was a favorite of my father, Irving, aka "Babe" and we attended the wedding of Sid and Sally and also visited him in California. He leaves a legacy of a kind, caring intelligent person with a great sense of humor and a devotion to his family.

Dear Sally and family members,

Although we live only a block apart, only once did I have a quiet hour of conversation with Sid.
It was at San Diego's Congress of History during its annual exhibitions, gatherings and speeches by county historians. After pointing guests in the right direction to the conference room, he and I spent an hour talking about the history of El Cajon Valley, La Mesa and the mountain rising up between us. We wished that there were closer relations between our inland historical societies. Although he and I came up with terrific ideas and solutions, we in each community continue to be somewhat isolated, although still busy providing visitors and researchers peeks into our individual museums and archives revealing how settlers lived during the late 1800s and early 1900s.
