Barbara Bloxom Obituary

Barbara L. Hilchey Bloxom, 66, of Atascadero, flew into the Heavens with her Angels by her side, Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2010, at her home. Barbie entered this world in February 1944, born to Arthur P. and Alice Francis Hilchey, in Massachusetts. She moved to Anaheim, Calif., with her family in the late 50s and graduated from Anaheim Union High School in 1961. In 2001, she moved to Atascadero to be with her brother, Gordon F. Hilchey Sr. and his family. Nobody could light up a room like our adorable Aunt Barbie. She was warm, caring and always willing to lend an ear. The true measure of a person''s worth though, is not how they treat others in good times, it''s how they treat others when times are hard. No matter what Barbie was dealing with in her own life, she needed to know you were OK. Barbie, you Rocked our world! You were a Bitchin'' Lady with so much Class, You Bestilled Our Hearts at every gathering. You were Killer with your energetic, unstoppable humor and you shared Your Angels to All in Need. Barbie, you will be missed but never forgotten by all that knew and Loved you dearly. Love Ya, Darlin.'' Barbie is survived by her nephew, Gordon F. Hilchey Jr. (Gayle) of Atascadero and her children Amy Davidson Cooper (Nick) of Paso Robles and Evan Davidson (Jeanne) of Fortuna, Calif.; niece, Karen A. Hilchey Satterfield Ebersole; Niece-in-law, Lena M. Swanson (Lee) of Buffalo, Minn.; great niece Tammy R. Hilchey Pojawis (Anthony) of Buffalo, Minn.; great nephews Jarid D. Hilchey of Colorado and William Satterfield Ebersole of Atascadero; great-great nephews Martin S. Carter and Mathew W. Brown; great-great nieces Tessa Cooper and Miley Satterfield; as well as many other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Arthur P. and Alice Francis Hilchey; brother, Gordon F. Hilchey Sr. (Anne); sister, Edna Edmondson (Jim); and nephew. Martin W. Hilchey.

I worked with a Barbara Bloxom in Orange Co. CA as a very young man in the 1980s, we were hi-end caterers to the area's social elite. Would this be the same Lady?
"Babs" (as we called her then) was such a genuine character and real fireball to work with! She was everybody's big sister, Aunt or surrogate Mom ,as the case may be, and always looked out for all of us. What a great many wild events we shared during those years! The memory of her earnest exuberance and sardonic wit continue to put a smile in my heart. You are missed Babs...

Barbie was my neighbor on Washington Street in Weymouth, Massachusetts. I will never forget the morning her father died. Barbie died too young.

Our loss is Heaven's gain.....you will be Dearly missed by all who knew you! Thank you Barbara for all the support and words of wisdom.....I will never forget you. My grandaughter asked about "The Lady Who Loves Her" when I told her you had gone to heaven she said Wow does God know He's got a very special Angel? So with that said I will not say goodbye but instead see you again someday. It was an honor to have been blessed with you in this lifetime. Fly high my Angel.

This is all more deserving of Barbie. May all your Angels comfort you for all the pain you were in.You were the best of the best and I am so fortunate to have had you in my family. God Bless You and may your Spirit live on to fulfill your life's purpose.
