Dorothy Greene Obituary

On Saturday, Oct. 16, 2010, with family at her side, the Lord called Dottie home. She was born in Bakersfield, Calif., in 1927 to Tom and Edna Lott. Dottie was a cherished wife and mother. To her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she was affectionately known as "Tutu." Dottie excelled in softball, bowling and golf, but the most important part of her life was family. She was proud to have done her part as a mail carrier during World War II. She later was an Administrative Secretary at Sierra Vista Hospital for many years. The family would like to thank Green Hills Home and Hospice Partners of the Central Coast for their loving care of Dottie and the emotional support given to the family. A special thank you also goes to her granddaughter, Deneen Patti, for always being there to help. Dorothy is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Dean; children Betty Patti, Barbara Pruitt (Greg) and Dean II; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren, with one on the way; and sister, Betty Umland (Willard). At Dottie''s request, there will be no service but you can honor her by having a special day with your family. In her memory, a donation may be made to the Alzheimer''s Association or Hospice Partners of the Central Coast.
