Yuriko Joslin Obituary

Yuriko "Lilly" Joslin was born in Japan in February 1933, and passed away after a brief illness Friday, Nov. 5, 2010, at home amongst family. She was a middle school student in Nagasaki when the bomb fell. Thankfully, she was not in the city that day. Ten years later, she married Captain John M. Joslin of the U.S. Air Force and moved with him to America. They eventually settled in Atascadero in 1957. She was a devoted mother with a huge heart and raised a large family. The joys of her life were her sons, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening and was famous for being able to make anything grow. Lilly is survived by her sons Leo (Gary) of San Francisco, Charlie (Susan) of Atascadero, Victor (Kaylene) of Lago Vista, Texas, Gus (Denise) of Fontana, Calif., Mark of Palmdale, Calif., and Bob (Leslie) of Templeton; grandchildren Charlie Jr. (Rylee), Amanda, Tracy, Sean, Elizabeth, Tyler, John Cody, Hallie, Hannah, Jennie, Bobby, John Mark and Brian; and great-grandchildren Alexis, Mazie, Madorie, and Kellen; daughters-in-law, Julie and Sandy; along with scores of others who knew her as "Grandma Lilly." In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Yuriko''s name to Hospice Partners of the Central Coast, 277 South Street, Ste. R, San Luis Obispo, CA 93401. Chapel of the Roses 466-1161 Atascadero
