Ruby Gay Morris Brewer

Oak Park - Mrs. Ruby Gay Morris Brewer, 84, died Tuesday evening, April 1, 2003 at St. Josephs Hospital of Savannah. A native of Treutlen County, she lived most of her life in Toombs and Emanuel Counties, she was owner and operator of Rubys Beauty Shop of Lyons for many years, was a homemaker and a member of Lyons Holiness Church. Survivors: husband, Avis "Duke" Brewer of Oak Park; two daughters, Lafaye Smith of Tampa, FL, and Betty Dismuke of Soperton; three sisters, Cassia Cave of Savannah, Cuba James of Lyons, and Larenia Kitchens of Owensboro, KY; four grandchildren, Jan Lumley, and Timmy Williamson both of Oak Park, Selena Smith of Fernandina Beach, and Tonya McCreary of Tampa; five great grandchildren, Jody Whitaker, Crystal Lumley, Luke Williamson, and Little Timmy Williamson all of Oak Park and Ruby LaFaye McCreary of Tampa; one great-great grandson, Robert Trey McDaniel of Oak Park; two nephews, Lloyd and Floyd James of Reidsville; and several cousins. Visitation: 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Funeral Services: 11:00 a.m. Saturday from the chapel of JonesÐStewart Funeral Home of Lyons with Rev. Henry Dowd officiating.
