Delmus Hursey Obituary

Mr. Delmus Kenneth Hursey - ELLABELL - Mr. Delmus Kenneth Hursey, age 84 died Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2011 while under the care of his family and Hospice Savannah. Mr. Hursey was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during WWII and the occupation of Japan. He retired from Union Camp with over 43 years of service and was a member of Ellabell Methodist Church. Mr. Hursey enjoyed camping, fishing, gardening and his family. He was a great husband and father. He provided for many people in this community from his garden and would give the shirt off his back to help someone in need. His Christian values will live on in his family. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Shirley Ann Hursey of Ellabell; son Brian Kenneth Hursey of Ellabell; four daughters Paula H. (Rodger) Lower of Kingsland; Robin C. Hursey (Wallace Chavis) of Ellabell, Lisa M Hursey of Ellabell and Shannon L. Craft of Ellabell; one sister Winona Blitch of Stilson; and five grandchildren Brooke N. Lower, Caitlyn A. Lower, Jonathan D. Craft, Diana M. Moon and Abigail M. Summers. Visitation will be 1:30 2:30 P.M. Friday, Nov. 11, 2011 at the funeral home. A celebration of Mr. Hursey's life will be 2:30 P.M. Friday, Nov. 11, 2011 in the chapel of Flanders Morrison Funeral Home with Rev. Chip Strickland officiating.
