To my dad I will miss you and your fat jokes,There are no words to describe the sorrow I feel,I think of all our fishing trips when I was a little boy and the first time you took me hunting I probably could not hit a barn then but I have greatly improved over the years,I remember my first deer I shot how you bloodied me up I remember you showing me how to skin catfish, I was never as good as you at it and never will be.I also remember your cooking when you was taking care of my sister and me The pancakes, the hot chocolate, you would have for breakfast for us when we was little,I remember the stories you told me of your youth,I never did without you made sure of that.I remember the last hunting trip we went on sitting down by the river and talking there are some stories that are kept between a father and son and we always knew which ones without having to say anything.Dad I still have few of my old flannel shirts from when I was little the shirttails are gone.ya'll deer hunters know what this means.Dad I love you and always will, you was my biggest hero and always will be. I still here your voice and see your face and I am quiet sure I always will.Your loving son Troy

I only met John this summer through my friend, Cathy Lilly and was blessed to know him even for such a brief time. He was a fine Christian man and I know he was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew him. I look forward to meeting him again and will rejoice to see that he is finally free of the suffering he endured these last few months.

Debbie, charlotte and family we are so sorry for your loss. I know what it is like to lose a father. John suffered a great deal and now he is at rest. He can grow grapefruits for St. Peter. I'm sorry I was unable to attend the wake or the funeral, but duty calls. I am sending something that will remind you everyday that John is at rest with his Lord. Please know that we love you and have you in our prayers.

I've always considered John "C" more than just a StepFather. He was a good friend, a mentor in fishing and gardening; an extremely hard worker. He was a Godsend for my Mother. Rest well, dear Friend. You've earned it.
