Harvey Lubold Obituary

Harvey C. Lubold, 97, of Kindred Place, Harrisburg, formerly of Valley View, passed away Tuesday at Kindred Place.

He was born on Tuesday, Jan. 4, 1921, in Hegins Township, a son of the late James G. and Bessie Schwalm Lubold.

He was a 1939 graduate of the former Hegins Township High School.

Harvey served in the Army during World War II.

He retired from Alcoa Aluminum, Cressona.

He was a member of St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, Valley View.

Harvey enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and bowling.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Harvey C. Lubold Jr.; a brother, William Lubold; two sisters, Helen Smeltz and Eva Klinger.

He is survived by his wife, Hilda M. Moyer Lubold, to whom he was married for 76 years. He is also survived by two daughters, Linda M. Sariano and her husband, James, Mechanicsburg, and Audrey L. Gongloff and her husband, Dale, Annville; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a sister, Lucille Ludwig, Ashland; a brother, Melvin Lubold, Harrisburg; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, Valley View, with the Rev. Duane Bardo officiating. A viewing will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday at the church. Burial will be made in St. Andrew's Cemetery, Valley View. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 221, Valley View, PA 17983, or Hospice of Central PA, 1320 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg, PA 17110. Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, is in charge of arrangements. Condolences can be left for the family at www.buffingtonreed.com.
