John Oldt Obituary

John R. Oldt, 85, of Manheim Township, passed away Monday morning at Schuylkill Center, Pottsville.
Born in Pottsville, Sept. 28, 1925, he was a son of the late John and Marion Haffey Oldt.
John worked for Capitol Airlines, San Francisco, as a machinist in his younger years. He retired from the former Doehler-Jarvis, Stowe, after 23 years of employment. For the last 10 years, he worked as a landscaper for Penn State University, Schuylkill Campus, Schuylkill Haven. He was an avid gardener.
He attended Grace Evangelical Congregational Church, Schuylkill Haven.
John was preceded in death by a sister, Marion Lacey; and a brother, Edward Oldt.
Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Ella M. Thomas Oldt, Manheim Township; two daughters, Darryl Oldt, Petersburg, Va., and Adrienne Feeley, wife of William, Prospect Park; two grandchildren, Laurel and Cassandra Feeley; a sister, Alice Berkheiser, Pottsville; two brothers, Albert Lacey, husband of Virgie, Minnesota, and Richard Lacey, Upper Darby; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Grace Evangelical Congregational Church, Schuylkill Haven. The Rev. Robert Stahl, pastor, will officiate. Family and friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 10 a.m. until the time of service Friday at the church. Interment will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. Family and friends may gather for a procession to the cemetery at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Schlitzer-Allen-Pugh Funeral Home Inc., Sixth and West Market streets, Pottsville. Memorial contributions may be sent to Grace Evangelical Congregational Church, 9 Jefferson Street and Earl Stoyer Drive, Schuylkill Haven, PA 17972. Online condolences may be sent to www.bestlifetributes.com. Schlitzer-Allen-Pugh Funeral Home Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
